2514 Rim Run -- generalized outline and working notes...

Here's a planning doc for the Jin Dui's 2514 Rim Run -- they're doing a tour of several of the most remote areas of the Georgia Cluster and Blue Cluster before returning next to Deadwood (and whatever confrontations will prove necessary there with Van Hooven and Darius).

My current working assumptions:

* Arrival and departure dates provided here are estimates, and may change due to story needs. If you need an oddball little location, or a generic "frontier town" setting, the Rim Run will have just the spot for you!

* The goal of the Jin Dui here is to scope out some of the most remote real estate in the ‘Verse, looking for business opportunities among under-served communities and just getting a first-hand lay of the land.

* The crew will be advertising their services for medical care, veterinary care, mechanical assistance, electronics assistance, legal assistance, and a general emporium of goods on sale.

* Payment for services rendered will be accepted on a sliding scale -- expect a lot of bartered goods, foodstuffs, odds and ends, even additional livestock.

* The ship will have loaded up while on Beylix on a lot of surplus materials, including medical supplies and spare parts they expect will be needed by small communities on the Rim.

* The Rim Run should provide a wide opportunity of story-telling and artistic opportunities. The ship will be visiting a lot of different locations, and populations will range from tiny frontier towns to bustling regional capitals. We could be shipping a herd of long-horned heifers at one port, then taking high tea at the Governor’s Mansion the next.

* Passengers and cargos will still be booked between destinations. In some places, it’s even possible that the Jin Dui will be hired simply to ferry people by shuttle between locations on-world (or between moons -- see below).

* Many of these locations are moons, which are only a couple of hours distant from one another. This is definitely an opportunity for stories splitting the crew between jobs on the ship, and more remote jobs reached via the shuttle.

* Cooper is looking for unpredicted opportunities, while at the same time keeping on the move from any fallout that may be following them from the incident with the Lucky Day. She wants to see if the ship can glean a profit from this sort of tour of the rim worlds, and is looking to build relationship with communities who want regular, return visits.

I'm already thinking of eliminating visit to the cluster of Athen's moons, and shifting that time spent to increasing the days among the various spots in the Blue Cluster. The extraordinarily low populations of the Blue Cluster should mean more settlements in need of the Jin Dui's offerings.

EDIT: I have chopped those out, and increased the time spent in the Blue Cluster accordingly.
